     William Burritt was born in Jan 1775 in Reading, Connecticut.3,4
     William married first Sally Lathrop, daughter of Thomas Lathrop and Wealthy Ann Cobb, in Vergennes, Vermont.5 Sally and William settled in Vergennes, Addison Co., Vermont, by 1810.9 (See map.)
     William appeared on the 1810 Federal Census of Vergennes, Addison Co., Vermont, with a household consisting of one male under age 10, three age 16 to 26, one age 26 to 45 (himself), two females under 10, one age10 to 16, and two age 16 to 26 (wife Sally Lathrop) and another.)9
     His wife died in 1819.10
     William married second Mary Brown, daughter of Phineas Brown and Sarah Patterson, on 25 Apr 1819 in Vergennes, Vermont.6
     William appeared on the 1820 Federal Census of Vergennes, Addison Co., Vermont, with a household consisting of one male age 10 to 16, one age 26 to 45 (himself), four females under 10, one age 10 to 16, and one age 26 to 45 (his second wife, Mary Brown.)11
     William died on 2 Apr 1833 at age 58.7,8 He was buried in Old Vergennes Cemetery, Vergennes, Addison Co., Vermont.2
