Map showing the land Ralph Reigel homesteaded in the central Oregon desert. The section outlined in red was his initial claim, of 160 acres, filed 19 May 1908. The section outlined in blue was his supplemental claim, for 165 acres, filed 11 Mar 1913.
The patent for both was issued 29 Apr 1915. The family abandoned the endeavor shortly afterward and sold the property 10 Dec 1918.
Click on the Satellite button at the upper right to see how the parcels remain un-cultivated while the adjacent ones are now irrigated. Zoom in to see how most of the property is totally unused. The cluster of buildings visible at the southwest corner of the western half of the homestead are the dwelling and shop buildings of the current owner of that parcel. The Reigel's buildings, including the small store and post office that constituted town of Arrow were approximately at that location.
The section outlined in green, a mile south, is the homestead of Adin Roberts, Ralph's father-in-law. The patent for that parcel was issued 9 May 1917.
