William Masters was born on 27 Jun 1875 in Hamilton Co., OhioG.4,5,6
     His mother died before 1880, when William was under five years old.13
     He appeared with his father on the 1880 Federal Census of Anderson Twp., Hamilton Co., Ohio, G in the household of his paternal grandparents.14
     William married first Effie Alice Brose, daughter of Frederick S. Brose and Debra Jane Gardner, on 18 Jul 1895 in Brown Co., OhioG, with Rev. J. R. Long officiating.7,8
     He was a freight handler on a railroad by 1900.15
     William and Effie appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 2848 Eastern Ave. G, enumerated 4 Jun 1900, reporting they rented their home. Their children Edith, Clara, and Lillian were listed as living with them. They were living in the same building as her older sister Louise and her husband.3
     His wife died on 8 Mar 1908.16
     William registered for the draft for World War I on 12 Sep 1918, while living at 103 8th Ave., Huntington, Wayne Co., West VirginiaG, reporting he was employed as timber inspector for Charles Boldt Glass Company.17 He was a foreman at a glass company by 1920.18,19
     William appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Huntington, Cabell Co., West Virginia, at 103 8th Ave. G, enumerated 26 Jan 1920, as a roomer in the household of Perry Meadows, his wife, and two children.20
     William married second Margaret Rowe, daughter of Ella Turner, on 13 Nov 1922 in Cabell Co., West VirginiaG, with C. Rawdall Garrison officiating. She was the widow of Dolphus Simpson.9,10
     William and Margaret appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Huntington, Cabell Co., West Virginia, at 707 Jackson Ave. G, enumerated 18 Apr 1930, reporting they owned a home valued at $3,000, and owned a radio.21
     He was a watchman at a glass factory by 1940, reporting in 1940 he had worked 36 hours the last week of March, and 52 weeks the prior year, earning $1,300. He was retired by 1950. In 1949 he earned $792 in interest and pension income.22,23
     William and Margaret appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Huntington, Cabell Co., West Virginia, at 707 Jackson Ave. G, enumerated 11 Apr 1940, reporting they owned a home valued at $1,800, and that they had lived in the same house in 1935.24
     William and Margaret returned to Ohio about 1949.25 They appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Bethel, Clermont Co., Ohio, at 338 S. Charity G, enumerated 19 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm.26
     William died on 31 Dec 1966 in Huntington, Cabell Co., West VirginiaG, at age 91.11 He was buried on 3 Jan 1967 in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, West VirginiaG.12
