Narrative:

John W. Fritts was born on 10 Jul 1849 in Belmont Co., OhioG.4,5,6
     He appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Uniontown Twp., Belmont Co., OhioG, in the household of his parents, James Fritts and Esther Daniel.21 He appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Scott Twp., Adams Co., OhioG, in the household of his parents.22
     John graduated from Ohio State University, Columbus, OhioG.23
     John appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Scott Twp., Adams Co., OhioG, enumerated 30 Jun 1870, in the household of James Crisswell, a farmer, and his wife and children. He was listed as a farm laborer.24
     He was a school teacher by 1880.25
     He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Newport Twp., Adams Co., Ohio, G in the household of his parents.26
     John married first Clara A. Walcott, daughter of Henry Walcott and Sarah Carey, on 4 Aug 1880 in Warren Co., OhioG.7,8
     John and Clara moved to Ohio before 1890.
     His wife died on 12 Nov 1893.27
     He was an insurance agent in ClevelandG.28,29,30
     John married second Flora A. Remington, daughter of John Henry Remington and Annis Baker Clark, on 20 Jan 1897 in Cuyahoga Co., OhioG, with Rev. J. Z. Tyler offciating.9,10
     John appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio, at 39 Huntington G, enumerated 1 Jun 1900, in the household of Fred Stephens, his wife, and daughter. His children Raymond and Maude were listed as living with him, all listed as boarders, along with two other men.31 Flora was enumerated 8 Jun 1900, at 131 Huntington St.,G, a block and a half away, where she was listed as operating a lodging house. John and Flora were both listed as married.32
     John moved to PennsylvaniaG in 1902.33
     John and Flora were divorced, before 1906 apparently, as she was using her prior married name by then.11,12
     He was an insurance agent in PittsburghG, and by 1920 manager of the accident and health department of the Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Company.34,35,23,36
     John appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania, at 1418 Federal St. G, enumerated 25 Apr 1910, reporting he rented his home.37
     John married third Anna M. Hartland on 20 Oct 1910 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co., PennsylvaniaG, with Rev. Z. M. Silbaugh, pastor of the Franklin Methodist Episcopal Church officiating, in his residence.13,14,15
     John and Anna appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania, at 6323 Howe St. G, enumerated 3 Jan 1920, reporting they rented their home. Their daughter Mary was listed as living with them, as were eight people listed as lodgers. Seven were men, a solicitor, two salesmen, an electrician, a manager, a chef, and a civil engineer. The eighth was a divorced woman who did housework.38
     John died on 8 Jan 1932, at his home, 6323 Howe St., Pittsburgh, PennsylvaniaG, at age 82.16,17 He was buried on 11 Jan 1932 in Woodland Cemetery, Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., OhioG.18,19,20
