The executor was to purchase a house and lot in Decatur Co. for the use of his father's third wife during her lifetime, then sold with the proceeds to be distributed in equal shares to William and his nine siblings. He was also to sell all the personal and real property, investing the proceeds until the youngest child reached the age of 21, then distribute it to them.

G, on 20 Aug 1862, and subsequently moved to Munfordville, Kentucky, where it was involved in the Siege of Munfordville from 14-17 Sep. The regiment was captured 17 Sep, but later paroled and sent to Indianapolis. It reorganized at Indianapolis until 25 Dec, and then moved back to Louisville, Kentucky. It went on duty at Murfreesboro, Tennessee from January to June 1863, and participated in various battles in April through June.
