Lew E. Wood was born in Mar 1862 in IndianaG.4,5,6
     He appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Franklin Twp., Ripley Co., IndianaG, in the household of his parents, Edward W. Wood and Mary Evalyn C. Brooks.14 He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Franklin Twp., Ripley Co., Indiana, G in the household of his parents.15
     He was a farm laborer, presumably on the family farm, by 1880.16
     Lew married May Christy, daughter of Churchill G. Christy and Maria Cobb, on 18 Jun 1890 in Hamilton Co., OhioG, with Rev. Charles H. Haines officiating.7,8,9
     Lew and Nancy moved to IllinoisG but when they did that is unknown. They appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Flora, Clay Co., Illinois G, enumerated 4 Jun 1900.17
     He was a train master at the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad by 1910.18,19
     Lew left a will dated 26 Jul 1909 stating he was of Flora, Clay Co., IllinoisG, in which he directed that all his just debts and funeral expenses be paid from his estate. He left all the rest of his estate, real, personal, and mixed, to his wife. He directed that she be his executrix, to serve without bond and without filing any report to the court.20
     Lew and Nancy appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Flora, Clay Co., Illinois, at Second St. G, enumerated 16 Apr 1910, reporting they rented their home.21
     Lew died on 18 Jul 1910, at his home, Flora, IllinoisG, at age 48.10,11 He was buried in Forest Hill Cemetery, Moores Hill, Dearborn Co., IndianaG, with his parents.12,13
     His will was probated on 15 Aug 1910 in Clay Co.G.20

Joseph B. Pellens was born on 11 Jan 1851 in Cincinnati, OhioG.4,5,6
     He appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OhioG, in the household of his parents, George William Pellens and Louise Darmhouse.14
     Joseph moved to Seymour, IndianaG, by 1870, apparently following his older brother Adolphus, who had moved there in 1864.15 He appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Seymour, Jackson Co., IndianaG, in the household of his brother Adolphus and his wife, Frederica J. Turcke. His occupation was listed as clerk in a drug store, presumably his brother's store.16
     Joseph was named an heir in the will of his father dated 5 Dec 1873 in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OhioG, to receive an equal share with his four brothers of the estate.17
     Joseph moved to Rochester, IndianaG, by 1880. He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Rochester, Fulton Co., Indiana, on Main Street G, enumerated 7 Jun 1880.18
     He was a druggist in RochesterG.19,20
     Joseph married Nancy E. Cobb, daughter of Elkanah Cobb and Sarah Jane Youtsey, on 10 May 1881 at her father's residence one mile west of Seymour, Jackson Co., IndianaG, with Rev. Albert Ogle offciating.7,8,9
     Joseph and Nancy settled Rochester after their marriage.21 They moved to Fort WayneG about 1890.22
     In Fort Wayne he joined with William O. Gross in a firm known as Gross & Pellens, who were druggists and dealers in barbers' supplies, at 94 Calhoun. Gross had previously operated a similiar business under the name of Thieme & Gross at the same address, with Theodore F. Thieme. By 1900 Joseph was operating the business with a new partner, Arwid Polster, and the firm was called Pellens & Polster. It was at the same address, but the buildings had been re-numbered and it was know known as 902 Calhoun. G By 1904 he had a new partner, James D. Lewis, and the firm was called Pellens & Lewis.23,24
     Joseph and Nancy appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Wayne Twp., Allen Co., Indiana, at 164 East Berry G, enumerated 1 Jun 1900, reporting they owned their home, free of mortgage. Their children Myra, Louise, and Elliott were listed as living with them.25
     His firm was dissolved by 1907. Joseph continued to call himself a druggist in the city directory, and on the 1910 census, but it appears he was not actually in business. He is listed in the 1909 city directory as a stockkeeper for W. K. Mills, but with no apparent occupation after that.26,27,28
     Joseph and Nancy appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Fort Wayne, Allen Co., Indiana, at 578 Berry St. East G, enumerated 15 Apr 1910, reporting they owned their home, free of mortgage. Their children Myra, Louise, and Elliott were listed as living with them.29
     Joseph and Nancy moved to MontanaG about 1910.30 They appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Lolo, Missoula Co., Montana G, enumerated 25 Feb 1920, reporting they owned their home, free of mortgage. Their son Elliott was listed as living with them.31
     Joseph died on 4 Jul 1926 in Lolo, Missoula Co., MontanaG, at age 75.10,11 He was buried on 6 Jul 1926 in Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, Jackson Co., IndianaG.12,13
