Betsey married Dr. Warren Bell Sargent, son of Dr. John Sargent and Delight Bell, on 5 Sep 1843 in Pawlet, VermontG.7,8,9
Betsey and Warren appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Pawlet, Rutland Co., VermontG, enumerated 26 Oct 1850, reporting real estate valued at $4,500. Their daughter Helen was listed as living with them, as was Derrick Bowman, a 22-year-old laborer from Canada.15 They appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Pawlet, Rutland Co., VermontG, enumerated 17 Aug 1860, reporting real estate valued at $4,500 and personal estate of $2,500. Carrie Price, a servant, is also listed in the home. The listing is confusing however, as he is shown as the owner of a farm, but she is shown as owner of her home, and her relationship to him was left blank. It seems most likely he had taken over the farm while she remained in her home.21
