Mary Elizabeth Hannibal was born on 15 Nov 1827 in Washington Co., New YorkG.4,5,6
     Mary married Rev. Elkanah Franklyn Remington, son of Zadock Remington Jr. and Sophia Cobb, on 25 Dec 1847 in Hebron, Washington Co., New YorkG, with Rev. Meeker of Pawlet, Vermont, offciating.7,8,9
     Mary and Elkanah appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Chicopee, Hampden Co., MassachusettsG, enumerated 12 Sep 1850. Their daughter Grace was listed as living with them.13
     Mary and Elkanah moved to Brooklyn, New YorkG, about 1851.14
     Mary and Elkanah appeared on the 1855 State Census of Brooklyn, Kings Co., New York G, enumerated 9 Jun 1855, reporting they were living in a brick house valued at $3,000. Their children Grace, Clara, and Mary were listed as living with them.15
     Mary died on 29 Apr 1859 in Brooklyn, New YorkG, at age 31.10,6 She was buried on 8 Oct 1904 in Green-Wood Cemetery, Kings Co., New YorkG, apparently re-interred in the family plot from elsewhere.11,12

Grace Remington was born on 22 Aug 1849 in Bennington Co., VermontG.4,5,6
     She appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Chicopee, Hampden Co., MassachusettsG, in the household of her parents, Rev. Elkanah Franklyn Remington and Mary Elizabeth Hannibal.14
     She moved to Brooklyn, New YorkG, with her parents about 1851.15 She appeared on the 1855 State Census of Brooklyn, Kings Co., New YorkG, in the household of her parents.16
     Her mother died on 29 Apr 1859, when Grace was about 9 years old.17,18
     She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Brooklyn, Kings Co., New YorkG, in the household of her father.19 She appeared on the 1865 State Census of Brooklyn, Kings Co., New YorkG, in the household of her father.20
     Grace appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Brooklyn, Kings Co., New YorkG, in the household of her father.21 She appeared on the 1875 State Census of Brooklyn, Kings Co., New York, in the household of her father.22
     Grace married Alfred George Atkins, son of Joseph Atkins and Elizabeth Nixon, on 28 May 1878 in Church of the Redeemer, Brooklyn, Kings Co., New YorkG, with the bride's father officiating.7,8,9
     Grace and Alfred moved to New JerseyG by 1880. They appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of West Orange, Essex Co., New Jersey, on Prospect Ave. G, enumerated 4 Jun 1880., Mary Sullivan, age 23, a domestic from Ireland, is listed as also living in the household.23
     Grace was named executrix and heir in the will of Rev. Elkanah Franklyn Remington, her father, dated 12 Sep 1888 in Brooklyn, New YorkG, to receive all his estate, real and personal.24,25
     Grace and Alfred returned to New York by 1892. They appeared on the 1892 State Census of Brooklyn, Kings Co., New York G. A 25-year old Irish servant, Maggie Blaney, was also listed in the household.26
     Grace and Alfred have not been found in the 1900 census, though they were apparently living in BrooklynG.
     Grace died on 1 Aug 1904, at age 54, in Essex, New YorkG, where she was "passing the summer."10,11,6 She was buried on 5 Sep 1904 in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, New YorkG, in a family plot.12,13
