John Frank Hazelrigg was born on 22 Mar 1832 in Decatur Co., IndianaG.4,5,6
     He was probably one of the two males age 5 to10 listed in the household of his father, John Hazelrigg, in the 1840 Federal Census of Decatur Co., IndianaG.12
     He appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Marion Twp., Decatur Co., IndianaG, in the household of his parents.13
     John married Nancy H. Cobb, daughter of Dyar Cobb and Almyra Tremain, on 1 Nov 1853 in Decatur Co., IndianaG, with Charles Hazelrigg, justice of the peace, offciating.7,8
     John and Nancy appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Marion Twp., Decatur Co., IndianaG, enumerated 8 Aug 1860, reporting real estate valued at $3000 and personal estate of $350. Their children Emily and Sopha were listed as living with them.14
     He was a laborer in 1850, and a farmer by 1860.15,14,16,17 He registered for the draft for the Civil War, appearing on the register dated in Jun 1863, while living in Marion Co., IndianaG, reporting he was employed as a farmer.13
     John and Nancy appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Marion Twp., Decatur Co., IndianaG, enumerated 23 Jun 1870, reporting real estate valued at $3,000 and no personal estate. Their children Emily, Sopha, Lizzie, and Laura were listed as living with them.18 Their two youngest children, Dyar, age three, and Lucy, 18 months, were listed in the household of James and Sarah McConnell, also in Marion Twp. She was Sarah Christy, apparently some relative of hers.19,20
     John and Nancy appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Greensburg, Decatur Co., Indiana G, enumerated 7 Jun 1880. Their children Sopha, Lizzie, Laura, Dyar, and Lucy were listed as living with them.21
     He had become a carriage maker by 1880.22,23
     His wife died on 2 Nov 1899.24,25
     John died on 16 Jan 1900 in Washington, Decatur Co., IndianaG, at age 67.9,5 He was buried on 18 Jan 1900 in South Park Cemetery, Greensburg, Decatur Co., IndianaG.10,11
