John Fred Borst was born in Apr 1856 in GermanyG.4,5,6
     John immigrated about 1874 and was naturalized before about 1890.11,12,13,14
     John married Mary E. about 1892.7,8,9
     John and Mary appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Lone Tree, Yakima Co., Washington G, enumerated 25 Jun 1900. Their children Fredrick, George, and Helen were listed as living with them.1
     John and Mary appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of North Prosser, Benton Co., Washington G, enumerated 10 May 1910. Their children Fredrick, George, Helen, Charles, Franklin, and David were listed as living with them.2
     John and Mary appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of La Center, Clark Co., Washington G, enumerated 20 Jan 1920, reporting they owned their home, which was mortgaged. Their children Franklin, David, and Neal were listed as living with them.15
     He was a farmer, retiring by 1930.16,17,15,18
     John and Mary moved to OregonG before 1930. They appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon, at 1460 Woodlawn Ave. G, enumerated 3 Apr 1930, reporting that the owned a home value at $1,500 but did not own a radio. Their children David and Neal were listed as living with them.19
     John died on 13 Jan 1933 in Portland, Multnomah Co., OregonG, at age 76.10
