Lewis Henry Decker was born on 22 Oct 1857 in West Chester, Tuscarawas Co., OhioG.3,4,5
     He appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Guernsey Co., OhioG, in the household of his parents, Lewis Decker and Sarah B. Moore.9 He appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Guernsey Co., OhioG, in the household of his parents.10
     Lewis married Deloria T. Furnace, daughter of Thomas Furnace and Rachel Parkins, on 23 May 1878 in Smyrna, Harrison Co., OhioG.6,7,8
     Lewis and Deloria appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Guernsey Co., Ohio G, enumerated 15 Jun 1880. Their daughter Florence was listed as living with them. They apparently were living with or very near his parents, as they are listed as the preceding household.11
     He was a laborer.11
     Lewis died on 13 Jan 1895 in Vermont, Fulton Co., IllinoisG, at age 37.3 He was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Astoria, Fulton Co., IllinoisG.3

Narrative:

Deloria T. Furnace was born on 7 Jan 1859 in Somerton, Belmont Co., OhioG.4,5,6 She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Somerton, Belmont Co., OhioG, in the household of her parents, Thomas Furnace and Rachel Parkins.17
     Deloria married first Lewis Henry Decker, son of Lewis Decker and Sarah B. Moore, on 23 May 1878 in Smyrna, Harrison Co., OhioG.7,8,9
     Deloria and Lewis appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Guernsey Co., Ohio G, enumerated 15 Jun 1880. Their daughter Florence was listed as living with them. They apparently were living with or very near his parents, as they are listed as the preceding household.18
     Her husband died on 13 Jan 1895 in Vermont, Fulton Co., IllinoisG.19 By 1900 she was working as a laundress to support her family.20
     Deloria appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Vermont, Fulton Co., Illinois, at Main St. G, enumerated 8 Jun 1900, reporting that she owned her home, mortgage free. Her children Florence, Pearl, Mande, Forrest, and Lewis were listed as living with her, as were Olive Arnold, a niece age 18, and two boarders, Glen Badger and Earl Risthey, both 22-year-old laborers.20
     Deloria married second Theodore Schroeder, son of Carson Schroeder and Margaret Estes, in Feb 1905 in Fulton Co., IllinoisG.10,11,12
     Deloria and Theodore appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Peoria, Peoria Co., Illinois, at 421 North Glendale Ave. G, enumerated 16 Apr 1910, reporting they were renting their home. His daughter Nellie by his prior marriage and her children Florence, Pearl, Mande, Forrest, and Lewis by her prior marriage were listed as living with them.21
     Deloria and Theodore appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Peoria, Peoria Co., Illinois, at 707 Bryan Ave. G, enumerated 7 Jan 1920, They reported they were renting their home, apparently from her daughter Florence and her husband, who are listed as owners and living in the other part of what appears to have been a two-family dwelling.22
     Deloria and Theodore were divorced between 1920 and 1930.13,14,15
     Deloria appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Peoria, Peoria Co., Illinois G, in the household of her daughter Florence and her husband, Philip T. Huxtable.23 She appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Peoria, Peoria Co., Illinois G, in the household of her daughter and her husband.24
     Deloria appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Peoria, Peoria Co., Illinois, G in the household of her daughter Florence and her husband, Philip T. Huxtable.25
     Deloria died on 25 Apr 1957 in Peoria, Peoria Co., IllinoisG, at age 98.16 She was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Astoria, Fulton Co., IllinoisG.16
