15 Morris married first Frances Pendleton Barker, daughter of Chiles Terrell Barker and Mary Louisa Hutchison, on 26 Apr 1887 Christian Co., Kentucky, in a double wedding with her twin sister, Susan. The wedding took place in their father's "elegant country home," "Glenburnie", and was officiated by Rev. Dr. Stringfellow, of Montgomery, Alabama, in the ritual of the Episcopal Church.
7,8 After a "splendid" dinner, the bridal party drove to Clarksville in carriages to a "splendid reception" by Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Clark, "one of the most elegant affairs ever witnessed in Clarksville, gotten up without regard to expense and with all the fashion and art could suggest, pleaseing to both the taste and eye."
