Beulah married second Matthew Lyon in Aug 1784 in Vermont.6,7,8
She died on 6 Feb 1824 in Little Rock, Arkansas, at age 59. While several sources show her death in 1821, based on the date on her tombstone, I believe that the final digit of the year, eroded by weather, was original a "4" and is now mis-read as a "1."9,10,11
She was buried in Riverview Cemetery, Eddyville, Caldwell Co., Kentucky.12
Beulah also appears in our Family History Section where there is much more information about her.
Miller, Suzanne, "Re: Death date for Beulah Chittenden Lyon," e-mail to author, 9 May 2005, notes that the "Lyon County Cemetery Book" lists the date as Feb. 6, 1821, and states that is the date on the tombstone. But states that a copy of Chittenden Lyon's Bible she received from another descendant shows the entry "Beulah Lyon, his mother, near Eddyville, February 5th [could be 6th, as there is a smudge over this part], 1824, the 60th year of her age."
Lyon, Chittenden letter to Witherell, James, 5 Apr 1828, shows she survived her husband by 18 months.
Lyon County Historical Society, Cemeteries of Lyon County, pg 277, shows date, as Feb. 6 (?) 1821.
