Narrative:

His given name may well have been Elkanah Winchester. The only source found that attempts so spell his first name seems to show it as Elhanin, but Elkanah was a name often used in the family. But he seems to have universally used the name Winchester, or simply Win, as an adult.1,15 E. Winchester Cobb was born on 28 May 1822 in Pennsylvania.8,9,10

Winchester and Charlotte appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Stevensville, Bradford Co., Pennsylvania, enumerated 25 Jun 1860, reporting real estate valued at $2,000 and personal estate of $810.
