Narrative:

William Addie Waggoner was born on 7 Apr 1861 in Martinsburg, Pike Co., Illinois.8,9,10
He appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Martinsburg Twp., Pike Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents, Jesse M. Waggoner and Harriet Adeline Foster.26 He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Spring Creek Twp., Pike Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents.5
William married first Martha B. Kessinger, daughter of Ransom A. Kessinger and Sarah J. Peacock, on 21 Nov 1886 in Pike Co., Illinois, with W. D. Hanks, justice of the peace, officating.11,12,13
William and Martha appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Pearl Twp., Pike Co., Illinois, enumerated 20 Jun 1900, reporting they rented their farm. Their children Obird and Ocie were listed as living with them, as were two laborers, Henry Wagner, age 26 (relationship, if any, not stated), and James Creek, age 66.27
He was working on a farm, presumably his father's, at age 19, and a farmer by 1900.28,27,29,30
     His wife died in 1907.24
William married second Nettie Kessinger, daughter of Catherine Christinna Kessinger, who was the older sister of his first wife, on 20 Nov 1909 in Pittsfield, Pike Co., Illinois, with S. P. Rupert, Justice of the Peace, officiating.14,15
William and Nettie appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Pearl Twp., Pike Co., Illinois, enumerated 15 Apr 1910, reporting they rented their farm. His children by his prior marriage, Obird and Ocie, and her daughter by her prior marriage, Verna, were listed as living with them.31
William and Nettie's marriage was apparently dissolved in 1910. No record of a divorce is found in Pike Co., so either they divorced elsewhere, or perhaps their marriage was declared invalid when it became apparent that her prior marriage had never been dissolved when her first husband attempted to divorce her.16,17,18
William married third Mary Emma Brogart, daughter of Moses Brogart and Melvina Buchanan, and widow of his first wife's older brother on 18 Jan 1911 in Bowling Green, Missouri, with R. L. Motley, judge of probate court, officiating.19,20,21
William and Mary appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Pearl Twp., Pike Co., Illinois, enumerated 8 Jan 1920, reporting they owned their farm, which was mortgaged. His son Obird and his family apparently were living close by, as they are listed as the second household following.30
William died on 13 Dec 1926 in Pearl Twp., Pike Co., Illinois, at age 65.22,23,24 He was buried on 15 Dec 1926 in Old Miller Cemetery, Pearl, Pike Co., Illinois, next to his first wife.3,25
