Narrative:

     Lewis C. Gann was born about 9 Dec 1819 in Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania.6,7,8
     He was probably one of the three males under age 10 listed in the household of his father, John Gann, in the 1820 Federal Census of Nippenose Twp., Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania.11 He was probably one of the two males age 10 to15 listed in the household of his father in the 1830 Federal Census of Adams Twp., Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania.12
     Lewis married Maria Hougendoubler.9
     Lewis and Maria appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Limestone Twp., Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania, enumerated 17 Aug 1850, reporting real estate valued at $1,500. Their children Peter, Sarah, Mary and Andrew were listed as living with them.1
     Lewis and Maria moved their family to Cedarville, Illinois, about 1853, then in 1854 moved to the embryo town of Warren.13
     He was a farmer in Pennsylvania. He worked at blacksmithing and wagon making after he arrived in Illinois, and was about to engage in the furniture business when he died.14,15
     Lewis died on 28 Sep 1854 in Warren, Illinois, of cholera, two weeks after moving to Warren, Illinois.10 He was buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Warren, Jo Daviess Co., Illinois.3
