     Edward Otho Cresap was born on 24 Nov 1782 in Cresaptown, Allegany Co., Maryland.5,6,7
     Edward married Sarah Story Briscoe, daughter of Hanson Briscoe and Mary Nappler Jordan, on 28 Sep 1807 in Allegany Co., Maryland.8,5,9
     He appeared on the 1810 Federal Census of 5th District West of Evits Creek, Allegany Co., Maryland, with a household consisting of one white male between ages 26 and 45 (himself); and one female under 10 (daughter Mary), and two between 16 and 26 (wife Sarah and another); and 8 slaves.11
     Edward and Sarah moved their family to Eddyville, Caldwell Co., Kentucky, about 1815. They traveled on a group of three flatboats, down the Ohio River and than up the Cumberland River to reach their destination.12,13
     Edward died on 2 Jan 1817 in Caldwell Co., Kentucky, at age 34.5,10,7 He was buried in Riverview Cemetery, Eddyville, Caldwell Co., Kentucky.3
