     Frank Edwin Martz was born on 1 Oct 1891 in Bartonsville, Pennsylvania.8,9,10
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Hamilton Twp., Monroe Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of his parents, Edwin C. Martz and Elizabeth Dreher.4 He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Hamilton Twp., Monroe Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of his parents.5 He was a laborer doing odd jobs.21
     Frank and his brother George traveled to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, in 1913, passing through the border at Niagra Falls on 15 Jul 1913. They identified themselves as farmers and said they were each carrying $140. Whether they vacationing or intending to work in Canada in not clear.22
     Frank moved to Oregon by 1917. He registered for the draft for World War I on 13 May 1917, while living at Viewpoint, Oregon, reporting he was employed as a stonemason, working on a gymnasium in Bend Oregon.23,24
     Frank married Bessie Regina Reigel, daughter of Ralph Orzben Reigel and Edith Jennie Roberts, on 29 Jul 1917 in Terrebonne, Deschutes Co., Oregon.11,12,13
     Frank and Bessie moved to Portland, Oregon, after their marriage. They appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon, at 1153 Corbett St., enumerated 6 Jan 1920, reporting they were renting their home.25
     He was a laborer in building construction in 1920. In 1930 he was reported to be a washman at a laundry and in 1940 a foreman in a laundry. That year he reported having worked 60 hours the last week of March, and 52 weeks the prior year, earning $1,700. He reported in the 1950 census he had worked 48 hours the prior week.25,26,27,28
     Frank and Bessie moved a number of times in the following years. They had children born in Salem and Tillamook, Oregon, before they settled in Jackson Co., Oregon, by 1927. They appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Ashland, Jackson Co., Oregon, at 115 Church St., enumerated 4 Apr 1930, reporting that the family rented it's home for $12 per month, and did not own a radio. Their children Frank, Edith, Donald and Bessiepearl were listed as living with them.26
     By 1940 they had moved back to Washington. They appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Pullman, Whitman Co., Washington, at 210 Harrison, enumerated 22 Apr 1940, reporting that they were renting their home, for $25 per month, and had lived in Ashland, Oregon in 1935. Their children Edith, Donald and Bessiepearl were listed as living with them, as was her cousin, Ernest Arthur Reigel.27
     Frank registered for the draft for World War II on 25 Apr 1942, while living at 1509 State St., Pulman, Whitman Co., Washington, reporting he was employed by Pullman Laundry Co. on Grand St. in Pullman.2
     Frank and Bessie were divorced after 1940.14,15
     Frank married second Faye Jeanette Carley, daughter of Charles E. Carley and Florence Augusta Close, on 16 Sep 1947 in with Dwight L. Cort officiating, Snohomish Co., Washington.16,17,18
     Frank and Faye appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Yakima, Yakima Co., Washington, at 202 W Yakima Ave., enumerated 10 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm.29
     Frank died on 14 May 1970 in Deer Lodge Co., Montana, at age 78.19,20
