     Lowell Gusham Stanner was born on 28 Mar 1910 in Champaign, Illinois.8,9,10
     He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Champaign, Champaign Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents, Rolla Otis Stanner and Maude L. Hamm.4 He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Champaign Twp., Champaign Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents.5 He appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Champaign Twp., Champaign Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents.
     Lowell married Evelyn Caroline Schuck, daughter of George W. Schuck and Katie Elizabeth Oetzel, on 26 Feb 1933 in Covington, Fountain Co., Indiana, with Rev. A. L. Brandenburg officiating.11,12,13
     He was a clerk at an ice house in 1930. By 1931 he was working at the seed house owned by his uncle, Guy W. Stanner, at 126 Market St., Champaign, where he continued to work until at least 1960.15,16,17,18
     Lowell and Evelyn appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Urbana, Champaign Co., Illinois, at 407 S. Johnson, enumerated 6 May 1940, reporting that they owned a home valued at $1,500, and had lived in Champaign in 1935. Their children James and John were listed as living with them, as was Alberta Grane, a 23-year-old maid.19
     By 1940 he was as salesman for the seed house. That year he reported he had worked 60 hours the last week of March, and 52 weeks the prior year, earning $960.19 He registered for the draft for World War II on 16 Oct 1940, while living at 407 S. Johnson, Urbana, Champaign Co., Illinois, reporting he was employed by Stanner Seed House in Champaign.3
     He was manager at the seed house by 1950, reporting in the 1950 census he had worked 48 hours the prior week.20
     Lowell and Evelyn appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Urbana, Champaign Co., Illinois, at 407 S Johnson, enumerated 13 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm. Their children James, John and Judy were listed as living with them.21
     His uncle died in 1954, and the business was then operated by William Z. Black, Jr., but Lowell continued to work there as a salesman. It was now known as Stanner Seed House, and was located at 502 Hickory.22,23
     His wife died on 23 Apr 1991.24
     Lowell died in Aug 1992 at age 82.14
