     Paul Donald Vaubel was born on 16 Dec 1914 in Pearl City, Illinois.9,10,11
     He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Bonfield, Kankakee Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents, Rev. Edward George Vaubel and Catherine Angelia Glabe.5 He appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Ottawa, LaSalle Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents.6 He appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Peotone, Will Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents, reporting that he had lived in Pearl City, Stephenson Co., Illinois, in 1935.14
     Paul was drafted as a private in the U.S. Army, entering the service 21 Feb 1941, in Peoria, Illinois, and served in the Philippine Islands.15,16
     Paul married Ethel Mae Lawrence, daughter of Delbert Chester Lawrence and Roma Viola Suther, on 16 Jan 1944 in Pierce Co., Washington, with Chapalin Fred A. Rinehart of Ft. Lewis officiating.12,13
     He was a furniture salesman, reporting in the 1940 census that he had not worked the last week of March, but had worked 49 weeks the prior year, earning $900. After the war, he was a flooring installer.14,17
     He was a floor decorator at a retail furniture store by 1950, reporting in the 1950 census he had worked 40 hours the prior week.18
     Paul and Ethel appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California, at 11846 Counth Ave., enumerated 16 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm.19
     Paul and Ethel were divorced in 1958.4
     Paul was living in Los Angeles, California, when his mother died in 1964.7
     After he retired in the mid-1970s, he moved to the San Diego area to be close to his sister Valera, living in Escondido, Vista, San Marcos, and Lakeside.3,20 He married second a woman is still living (Mar 2024), in 1983 in San Diego Co., California.
     Paul and his second wife apparently separated or divorced. No mention was made of her in his obituary.3
     Paul died on 9 Mar 2007 at age 92.3
