     He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents, William Augustus Heiple and Matilda Christina Glabe.3 He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents.4
     Charles married Elizabeth Grace Mills, daughter of Henry Harry Mills and Sarah Jane Hallam, on 25 Mar 1927 in Joliet, Illinois.11,12,13
     Charles and Elizabeth appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Orland Park, Cook Co., Illinois, on Second St., enumerated 18 Apr 1930, reporting they were renting their home, and owned a radio. Their son Charles was listed as living with them.17
     Charles and Elizabeth moved to rural Will Co. between 1930 and 1935.18 They moved to town before 1940.18 They appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Manhattan, Will Co., Illinois, enumerated 4 Apr 1940, reporting they were renting their home, for $30 per month. Their two children were listed as living with them.19
     He was a telegrapher for the Wabash and Norfolk & Western railroads.20,21,22 He registered for the draft for World War II on 16 Feb 1942, while living at Ivesdale, Champaign Co., Illinois, reporting he was employed by Wabash Railroad, in Decature, Illinois.2 He reported in the 1950 census he had worked 40 hours the prior week.
     Charles and Elizabeth moved to Bement, where they lived the rest of their lives, before 1950.23 They appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Bement, Piatt Co., Illinois, at 148 E Sprague, enumerated 14 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm, and living in the same county a year before. Their children Charles and Joan were listed as living with them.24
     His wife died on 3 Jan 1991.25
     Charles died on 22 Jan 1998 at age 93.14,15 He was buried on 24 Jan 1998 in Bement Cemetery, Bement, Illinois.16
