     William Howard Lyon Jr. was born on 9 Sep 1893 in 828 Brooklyn St., St. Louis, Missouri.7,8,9
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of St. Louis, Missouri, in the household of his parents, William Howard Lyon Sr. and Emily Fuerst.4
     His family moved to Illinois, home state of both parents, before 1910. He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Artesia Twp., Iroquois Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents.14
     William registered for the draft for World War I on 5 Jun 1917, while living at Buckley, Iroquois Co., Illinois, reporting he was employed as as a farm laborer by "W. H. Lyons," presumably his father.15 William was a private in the U.S. Army in World War I.16
     William married Catherine H. Wilson before 1920.10,11,12
     William appeared with Catherine, on the 1920 Federal Census of Artesia Twp., Iroquois Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents.17
     William and Catherine appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Pigeon Grove Twp., Iroquois Co., Illinois, enumerated 24 Apr 1930, reporting that they rented their home. Their children Harold, Charles and Paul were listed as living with them, as was Lester Ronna, a 21-year-old farm laborer, listed as a boarder.18
     William and Catherine appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Pigeon Grove Twp., Iroquois Co., Illinois, enumerated 2 May 1940, reporting they owned their home, and the family had lived in the same house in 1935. Their children Harold, Charles and Paul were listed as living with them.19
     William registered for the draft for World War II on 27 Apr 1942, while living at Cissna Park, Iroquois Co., Illinois, reporting he was self-employed, in the same town.1
     He was a farm laborer on his parents' farm as a young man, and later a farmer on his own. In the 1940 census he reported he had worked 60 hours the last week of March.20,21,19
     William died on 22 May 1945 at age 51.13 He was buried in Ridgeland Township Cemetery, Thawville, Iroquois Co., Illinois.12
