     Harvey Sebastian Glabe was born on 15 Mar 1884 in Chatsworth, Illinois.7,8,9,10
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Germanville Twp., Livingston Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents, John Glabe and Elizabeth Ruppel.3
     Harvey married Nettie Lou Bess, daughter of Peter Bess and Catherine Shell, on 21 Feb 1906 in Chatsworth, Livingston Co., Illinois, with Rev. A. H. Zahl officiating.11,12,13
     Harvey and Nettie moved to Kansas about 1909. They appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Rosalia Twp., Butler Co., Kansas, enumerated 11 May 1910, reporting that they owned their farm, mortgage free. Their children LaVerna and Fern were listed as living with them.18
     He was a farmer as a young man. In 1917 he was listed in the Prairie Farmer's Reliable Directory of Farmers & Breeders as operating a 200 acre farm owned by Mrs. E. Glabe, apparently his mother. The farm was in Livingston Co., section 1, Germantown Twp., and with Chatsworth the post office. in 1917.19,20,21,22
     Harvey registered for the draft for World War I on 12 Sep 1918, while living at Chatsworth, Livingston Co., Illinois, reporting he was a self-employed farmer in Germanville Twp.2
     Harvey and Nettie moved to Indiana before 1919. They appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Monon Twp., White Co., Indiana, enumerated 3 Jan 1920, reporting that they owned their farm, mortgage free. Their children LaVerna, Fern and David were listed as living with them.23
     Harvey and Nettie moved to Valparaiso, some 50 miles north, by 1924, where they lived at 607 N. Valparaiso.24 He was a tireman at Main Garage there.24
     Harvey and Nettie moved to Flint, Michigan by 1927, when they were living at 722 W. Cornell.25 They appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Flint, Genesee Co., Michigan, at 2716 Wolcott, enumerated 4 Apr 1930, reporting that they owned a home valued at $1,000. Their children David and Mary were listed as living with them.26 Harvey was an auto worker in Flint by 1927. By 1930 he had become a crane operator. By 1937 he was a stationary fireman.27,28
     Harvey and Nettie appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Flint, Genesee Co., Michigan, at 1122 Decker St., enumerated 2 Apr 1940, reporting that they owned a home valued at $3,000. Their children David and Mary were listed as living with them, They reported everyone had lived in the same house in 1935.29
     In 1940 he was an engineer at the Union Industrial Bank building, reporting in the census that he worked 48 hours the last week of March, and had worked 52 weeks in 1939, earning $1,500.30,31 By 1942 he had become a factory worker at Palace Coach.32
     Harvey registered for the draft for World War II on 27 Apr 1942, while living at 1122 Decker St., Flint, Michigan, reporting he was employed by Palace Coach.33
     Harvey and Nettie moved to Los Angeles Co., California by 1944, when they were living at 872 W. Walnut Ave., Monrovia.34 Harvey returned to his occupation as stationary fireman.35 They appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of South Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California, at 2642 Washington, enumerated 10 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm and they lived in the same house the year before. John Lagothetis, age 65 and from Greece, was listed as a boarder in the household.36
     His wife died on 29 Dec 1956 in Long Beach, California.37,38 After her death Harvey lived in Hollydale, a section of South Gate in southern Los Angeles Co., before moving to Los Alatimo, in Orange Co. by 1964.39,40
     Harvey died on 4 Mar 1967 in Los Alamitos, Orange Co., California, at age 82.14,15,16 He was buried in Green Hills Memorial Park, Rancho Palos Verdes, Los Angeles Co., California.17
