     His father died on 13 Jan 1895, when Forrest was 2 years old.21 Forrest appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Vermont, Fulton Co., Illinois, in the household of his mother, Deloria T. Furnace.7 He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Peoria, Peoria Co., Illinois, in the household of his mother and stepfather, Theodore Schroeder.22
     He was an assistant paymaster at a farm implement factory in 1910, at age 17.23
     Forrest married Myrtle Adeline Glabe, daughter of Jacob Glabe and Emma Amelia Goller, on 17 Jun 1915 in Peoria, Peoria Co., Illinois, with Rev. E. H. Muelder officiating.12,13,14
     Forrest registered for the draft for World War I on 5 Jun 1917, while living at 501 Maryland, Peoria, Illinois, reporting he was employed as a bank clerk at Central National Bank in Peoria.24
