     Ernest Arthur Reigel was born on 27 Aug 1914 in La Center, Clark Co., Washington.6,7,8
     His mother died on 31 Oct 1917, when Ernest was 3 years old.16,17 He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of La Center, Washington in the household of his father, Frank William Reigel, and stepmother, Vera Mattie Baird.4 He appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of La Center, Washington in the household of his father and stepmother.18
     Ernest attended Washington State College, Pullman, Washington, for two years, with his brother Kenneth.19,20,21 He applied for a Social Security Number 30 Nov 1938, while living at Rt. 1 Box 478, Woodland, Washington, when he was not employed.3
     Ernest appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Pullman, Whitman Co., Washington, in the household of Frank Edwin Martz and Bessie Regina Reigel, his cousin and her husband. He reported that he had lived in rural Clark Co. in 1935.22
     Ernest registered for the draft for World War II on 16 Oct 1940, while living at 210 Harrison St., Pullman, Whitman Co., Washington, reporting he was employed by U.S. Bureau of Mines at the power plant at Pullman.1
     He was a machinist in 1940, working for the Bureau of Mines. He reported that year he had worked 40 hours the last week of March, and 52 weeks the prior year, earning $1,240.23 He later worked for Schurman Machine Works in Woodland, Washington.24
     He was a salesman at the time he was married, living in Vancouver in Vancouver.25
     Ernest married Ella M. Stephenson, daughter of Sygurd Marineus Stephenson and Ida Thompson, on 1 Aug 1950 in Salmon Creek, Washington, with Rev. C. E. Dockstacker, Methodist minister, officiating.9,10
     Ernest and Ella settled in Vancouver, Washington, after their marriage, where he worked for the Clark County Assessor.24
     Ernest and Ella moved to Olympia, Washington, in 1966.24
     There he worked for the State of Washington, traveling the state to determine the relative property appraisal rates in the various counties.26,27,28
     Ernest died on 15 Apr 1977, at his home, Olympia, Thurston Co., Washington, at age 62.11,12,13 He was buried on 19 Apr 1977 in Forest Memorial Gardens, Olympia, Thurston Co., Washington.14,15
