     He used the nickname Roy Britton almost exclusively; it was even used on his tombstone.1,15,3
     He appeared on the 1875 State Census of Timberhill Twp., Bourbon Co., Kansas, in the household of his parents, Dr. John Bacon Britton and Elizabeth Blackmore.16 He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Timberhill Twp., Bourbon Co., Kansas, in the household of his parents.5
     His father died on 6 Aug 1884, when Pomeroy was 13 years old.17,18
     Roy appeared on the 1885 State Census of Timberhill Twp., Bourbon Co., Kansas, in the household of his mother.19
     Pomeroy married Addie Lee Godman, daughter of Samuel B. Godman and Mary Barnes, on 26 Dec 1893 in Linneus, Linn Co., Missouri, with Rev. J. W. Caldwell officating.11,12,13
