     Alice Belle Chesnut was born on 10 Sep 1862 in Fulton Co., Pennsylvania.9,10,11,12
     She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Ft. Littleton, Fulton Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of her parents, John Chesnut and Elizabeth Jane Flora.18
     She moved to West Virginia with her parents before 1880. She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Hampshire Co., West Virginia, in the household of her parents.5
     Alice married John H. Daniels, son of Andrew Daniels and Sarah [surname unknown], on 11 Oct 1883 in Berkeley Co., West Virginia, with George V. Lerch officiating.13,14,15
     Alice and John moved to Kansas on 15 Mar 1886 with their infant son Walter, arriving 15 Mar 1886. His parents followed them a few years later.15 Alice and John appeared on the 1895 State Census of Pawnee Rock, Barton Co., Kansas. Their children Dulcie and Vernon were listed as living with them. His parents were either living with them, or close by as they were listed next. This record does not distinguish separate households.19
     Alice and John appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Pawnee Rock, Barton Co., Kansas, enumerated 15 Jun 1900, reporting that they owned their home, free of mortgage. Their children Dulcie, Vernon and Andrew were listed as living with them.20
     Her husband died on 16 Jan 1904.15
     Alice appeared on the 1905 State Census of Pawnee Rock, Barton Co., Kansas. Her children Dulcie, Vernon, Andrew and Ronald were listed as living with her.21
     Alice was took in boarders to support her young family after the death of her husband.22,23,24,25,26 She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Pawnee Rock, Barton Co., Kansas, enumerated 26 Apr 1910, reporting that she owned their home, free of mortgage. Her children Dulcie, Vernon, Andrew and Ronald were listed as living with her. There were also six boarders, all men, ranging in age from 18 to 45. There were two laborers, a carpenter, a general store employee, and two railroad workers.27
     Alice appeared on the 1915 State Census of Pawnee Rock, Barton Co., Kansas. Her children Andrew and Ronald were listed as living with her, as were Will Loughridge, age 50, and Henry Miller, age 22. There is no indication whether they were boarders or relatives. Her father-in-law was apparently living close by, as his is listed as in the next dwelling on the record.28
     Alice appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Pawnee Rock, Barton Co., Kansas, on Pawnee Ave., enumerated 30 Jan 1920, reporting that she owned their home, free of mortgage. Her children Andrew and Ronald were listed as living with her, as was her late husband's father, Andrew Daniels. There were also two boarders, both men, ages 21 and 45. One was a telegraph operator for a railroad, and the other a barber with his own shop.29
     Alice appeared on the 1925 State Census of Pawnee Rock, Barton Co., Kansas, reporting that she owned her home, free of mortgage. Her son Ronald was listed as living with her.30
     Alice died on 13 Dec 1926 in Pawnee Rock, Kansas, at age 64, at her home.16 She was buried in Pawnee Rock Cemetery, Pawnee Rock, Barton Co., Kansas.17
