Nothing is known about his first wife, who he apparently married before 1875.
It appears Theodore and his first wife lived in Wisconsin for a time after their marriage, as they had a son born there.
Theodore and his first wife moved their young family to California by 1877. He registered to vote in Colusa Co. 20 Aug 1877, living in the Stony Creek section. His brothers Daniel, Gilbert and Eugene were also there by then. He and his family have not been found in the 1880 census.18
He moved to Willows, where he registered to vote 15 Oct 1884.19
Theodore married second Catherine Elizabeth Renollet, daughter of Paul Renollet and Julia Ann Glenn, on 4 Aug 1889 in Central Point, Oregon.10,11,12
Theodore moved to Siskiyou Co. by 1892. He registered to vote there 8 Oct 1892, in the Oak Bar precinct. Presumably Catherine and the children joined him there but there is no evidence by which we can know.1
Theodore and Catherine moved to Oregon by 1899, when their son was born there. They appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Jackson Co., Oregon, enumerated 26 Jun 1900, reporting they owned their home, which was mortgaged. Their children Leta and Harold, and his sons by his prior marriage, Charles and George, were listed as living with them.3
Theodore and Catherine moved to Ashland, Oregon, in 1908.13 They appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Ashland, Jackson Co., Oregon, at 763 B St., enumerated 25 Apr 1910, reporting they owned their home, which was mortgaged. Their children Leta, Harold and Leland were listed as living with them, as was Leta's son, Donald Silver, age 20 months.20
He was a laborer in 1877, and a farmer by 1884. By 1892, in Siskiyou Co., he was a mechanic.21 He returned to farming by 1900. In 1910 he was a laborer, doing odd jobs.22,23
