     Harry Raoul Hartman was born on 30 Jan 1926 in Northampton, Pennsylvania.9,10,11 He was baptized on 20 Mar 1926 in St. Paul's Reformed Church, Northampton, Pennsylvania, with Rev. I. M. Bachman officiating.1 He was known to family as Tinker.6,21
     He appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Northampton, Northampton Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of his parents, Harry Eugene Hartman and Katie H. Hill.4 He appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Northampton, Northampton Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of his parents.5
     Harry was in the Marine Corp in World War II, entering service 27 Apr 1943 and reaching the rank of sergeant. He was discharged 14 Feb 1946 at Cherry Point, North Carolina.22
     Harry married first Ida May Devereaux, daughter of William James Devereaux and Anna Elizabeth Simons, on 25 Nov 1945 in St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church, Northampton, Pennsylvania, with Rev. Sidney S. Smith officiating.12,13
     Harry and Ida appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Northampton, Northampton Co., Pennsylvania, at 2288 Main St., enumerated 10 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm, and had lived in the same county the prior year.
