     He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Whitehall Twp., Lehigh Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of his parents, John J. Devereaux and Sarah A. Eskey.4 He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Whitehall Twp., Lehigh Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of his parents.5
     William married Anna Elizabeth Simons, daughter of John Henry Simons and Mary Catharine Riegel, on 4 Jul 1909 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, with Rev. H. M. J. Klein officiating.1,12
     William and Anna appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Northampton, Northampton Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of Daniel E. Simonson and Ida A. Simons, her aunt and her husband.13
     William registered for the draft for World War I on 12 Sep 1918, while living at 1808 Washington, Northampton, Pennsylvania, reporting he was employed as a locomotive engineer with Atlas Cement Co. in Northampton.14

     William registered for the draft for World War II on 27 Apr 1942, while living at 1520 Washington Ave., Northampton, Northampton Co., Pennsylvania, reporting he was employed by Universal Atlas Cement Co.18
     He was a locomotive engineer for a steam railroad, apparently for Atlas Cement Company for most of his working life.1,19,20,21 In 1940 he reported he had worked no hours the last week of March, and had worked 26 weeks the prior year, earning $800. In the 1950 census he reported he was a sweeper for the boro, and had worked 21 hours the prior week, earning $1,300 in wages or salary, and $564 in interest, dividends, etc., in 1949. He was a laborer at the time of his death.22,23,24
     William and Anna appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Northampton, Northampton Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of their daughter Ida and her husband, Harry Raoul Hartman.25
     His wife died on 28 Mar 1952 in 2288 Main St., Northampton, Northampton Co., Pennsylvania.26,27
     William died on 9 Jul 1961 in Upper Nazareth Twp., Northampton Co., Pennsylvania, at age 81.3 He was buried on 13 Jul 1961 in Allen Union Cemetery, Northampton, Pennsylvania.3
