     William Dunstan was born on 16 Aug 1874 in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania.6,7,8,9,10
     He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Nanticoke, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of his mother, Elizabeth Jane Collins, with his father, Charles Dunstan, apparently present but omitted from the record in error.14 He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Nanticoke, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of his parents.2
     William married Nora May Smith, daughter of Abraham V. Smith and Mary Margaret Henry, on 26 Nov 1908 in Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, with Rev. C. H. Newing officating.11,12,13
     William and Nora appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, at 12 South Welles St., enumerated 22 Apr 1910, reporting that they rented their home. Their daughter Margaret was listed as living with them.15
     William registered for the draft for World War I on 12 Sep 1918, while living at 80 N. Grant, Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, reporting he was employed as a laborer at Sheldon Axle Works.3

Their children Margaret, Jeanette, Florence, Winifred, Mildred, Dorothy and Elizabeth were listed as living with them.17
     William and Nora appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, at 4 Lewis Lane, enumerated 15 Apr 1940, reporting they were renting their home, for $15 per month, and had lived in the same town in 1935. Their children Florence, Mildred, Dorothy, Elizabeth and Winifred were listed as living with them, as were Winifred's children, Beverly and William Bowers, ages 3 years and 7 months, respectively.18
     He was a clerk in a railroad office by 1900, and a laborer in a spring factory by 1920. He was unemployed in 1930.19,16,20,21 He was yard clerk for a steam railroad in 1940. But he reported that he had been out of work for over a year and was seeking work.18
     His wife died on 6 Sep 1941 in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania.22
     William appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, at Lewis St., enumerated 10 Apr 1950, reporting he lived in a home that was not on a farm. His daughter Florence was listed as living with him.23
     He was a houseman at a hotel at the time of his death.4
     William died on 3 Sep 1954 in Kingston, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, at age 80.4 He was buried on 6 Sep 1954 in Nanticoke Cemetery.4
