     Otho Wilkes Mims was born on 14 Sep 1874 in Arkansas.6,7,8
     His mother died between 1877 and 1880, when Otho was about 5 years old.14 He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Clark Twp., Logan Co., Arkansas, in the household of his father, Davis R. Mims.15
     Otho appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Galley Rock Twp., Yell Co., Arkansas, enumerated 7 Jun 1900, reporting that he owned his home, free of mortgage. Charles S. Brainard, a cook, is listed as living with him.16
     Otho married Elizabeth Hovis, daughter of Jasper Hovis and Mariam McKenzie, about 1903.9,10,11
     Otho and Elizabeth appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Dardanelle, Yell Co., Arkansas, on Second St., enumerated 28 Apr 1910, reporting they were renting their home. Their children Delena, Elsie and Jessee were listed as living with them.17
     Otho registered for the draft for World War I on 12 Sep 1918, while living at Dardanelle, Yell Co., Arkansas, reporting he was employed as a blacksmith and miller.1
     Otho and Elizabeth appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Dardanelle, Yell Co., Arkansas, enumerated 29 Jan 1920, reporting they were renting their home. Their children Delena, Elsie and Jessee were listed as living with them.18
     Otho and Elizabeth appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Dardanelle, Yell Co., Arkansas, enumerated 9 Apr 1930, reporting they were renting their home, for $50 per month and did not own a radio. Their son Jessee was listed as living with them.19
     Otho and Elizabeth appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Dardanelle, Yell Co., Arkansas, enumerated 8 Apr 1940, reporting they were renting their home, for $10 per month, and had lived in the same town in 1935.20
     He was a blacksmith by 1900, with his own shop by 1910 if not before, but working for wages by 1930. By 1940 he again had his own shop, and that year reported he had worked 48 hours the last week of March, and had worked 52 weeks the prior year.16,21,18,22,20
     Otho died in 1952.12,13 He was buried in Brearley Cemetery, Dardanelle, Yell Co., Arkansas.3
