Narrative:

     Henry D. Morrison was born in Nov 1843 in La Porte, Indiana.6,7,8 He appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Kankakee Twp, La Porte Co., Vermont, in the household of his parents, Ezekiel Morrison and Elmira [surname unknown].14 He appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of La Porte, La Porte Co., Indiana, in the household of his father, and stepmother, Mary [surname unknown].15
     Henry attended the public schools in La Porte, then the Racine, Wisconsin, college.12
     Henry married Mary Naomi Ridgeway, daughter of James Ridgeway and Naomi [surname unknown], on 15 Dec 1864 in La Porte Co., Indiana.9,10,11
     Henry and Mary appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Kankakee Twp, La Porte Co., Indiana, enumerated 13 Jun 1870, reporting real estate valued at $18,000 and personal estate of $6,000. Their son Francis was listed as living with them.16
     Henry and Mary appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of La Porte, La Porte Co., Indiana, enumerated 4 Jun 1880. Their children Francis, Anna and Mary were listed as living with them.17
     Henry and Mary appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of La Porte, La Porte Co., Indiana, at 1213 Michigan Ave., enumerated 13 Jun 1900, reporting that they owned their home, free of mortgage. Their daughter Mary was listed as living with them.18
     He was a farmer, east of town, until 1880 when he retired from active work on the farm but continued to supervise the work there.16,17 After the death of his brother Robert he was elected a director of First National Bank. He later became vice president of the bank, holding both positions until his death.12,19
     He spent his winters in Florida, and left in late Nov 1900 for his home there. His health had been poor for some years, and he was confined to his bed about two weeks before his death.12
     Henry died on 28 Dec 1900 in Daytona, Florida, at age 57, at his winter home there.12,13
