     Alice Steger was born on 8 Dec 1863 in Georgia.7,8,9
     She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Brownsboro, Madison Co., Alabama, in the household of her parents, Dr. Francis Epps Harris Steger and Mary Elizabeth Madden.12 She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Maysville, Madison Co., Alabama, in the household of her parents.5
     Alice married Davis Green Tuck, son of Dr. Henry Davis Tuck and Elizabeth John A. Smith, on 21 Feb 1888 in Davidson Co., Tennessee.10,11
     Her husband died on 7 Sep 1889 in Nashville, Davidson Co., Tennessee.13,14
     She appeared with her son Davis on the 1900 Federal Census of Davidson Co., Tennessee, in the household of her father, Dr. Francis Epps Harris Steger.15
     She was a teacher for a time after the death of her husband.15
     Alice appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Nashville, Davidson Co., Tennessee, at 109 9th Ave. South, enumerated 28 Apr 1910, in the household of John L. and Sallie A. Watkins. She is listed as a cousin, and Sallie's mother was a Madden, so it appears the relationship was through their mothers. Alfred C. Steger, age 9 and also listed as a cousin, as well as three servants were also listed in the household.16
     Alice appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Nashville, Davidson Co., Tennessee, at 109 9th Ave. South, in the household of John L. and Sallie A. Watkins. Four servants, a cook, two maids, and a chauffeur, were also listed in the household.17
     Alice appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Nashville, Davidson Co., Tennessee, at 117 Louise Ave., enumerated 14 Apr 1930, in the household of John L. and Sallie A. Watkins. They reported they owned a home valued at $10,000 and owned a radio.18
     After John died in Dec 1930 and Sallie in 1936, Alice moved to an apartment. She appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Nashville, Davidson Co., Tennessee, at the Polk Apartments, 7th Ave., enumerated 16 Apr 1940, reporting she was renting her apartment for $60 per month and lived in the same city in 1935.19
     Alice died on 14 May 1944 in Nashville, Davidson Co., Tennessee, at age 80.1 She was buried on 15 May 1944 in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Nashville, Davidson Co., Tennessee.1
     
Research Note, 25 Sep 2019:
It seems most likely that Alice was born in Georgia. Her parents were married in Madison Co. Alabama and lived there during Alice's youth. Alice is reported by some sources, including her own death certificate, as being born there. However her parents reported in 1870 and 1880 that she was born in Georgia while reporting their other children had been born in Alabama. Alice herself reported in her later years she had been born in Georgia.7,8,9,20,21,22
