Alice appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Nashville, Davidson Co., Tennessee, at 109 9th Ave. South, enumerated 28 Apr 1910, in the household of John L. and Sallie A. Watkins. She is listed as a cousin, and Sallie's mother was a Madden, so it appears the relationship was through their mothers. Alfred C. Research Note, 25 Sep 2019:
It seems most likely that Alice was born in Georgia. Her parents were married in Madison Co. Alabama and lived there during Alice's youth. Alice is reported by some sources, including her own death certificate, as being born there. However her parents reported in 1870 and 1880 that she was born in Georgia while reporting their other children had been born in Alabama. Alice herself reported in her later years she had been born in Georgia.7,8,9,20,21,22
