Narrative:

Alice Matilda Reigle was born on 7 Nov 1891 in Franklin, Kansas.9,10,11
She appeared on the 1895 State Census of Crow, Glenwood Twp., Phillips Co., Kansas, in the household of her parents, William David Riegel and Mary J. Quakenbush.15 She appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Sumner Twp., Phillips Co., Kansas, in the household of her parents.5
She moved to Missouri with her parents by before Mar 1906.16 She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Hazelwood Twp., Webster Co., Missouri, in the household of her parents.17
Alice married Jesse Bryant Ipock, son of Joseph B. Ipock and Nancy Jane Copley, on 8 Jul 1912 in Wister, LeFlore Co., Oklahoma, with Rev. J. D. Craftree, Baptist minister, officiating.12,13,14
Where Alice and Jesse were living after their marriage is unclear. Each was living in Missouri in 1910, but they both reported they were living in Wister, Oklahoma, when they married. How they came to be living there is a mystery, though it seems possible she was anxious to escape the disruption caused by her father's incarceration six months before. Where they lived afterwards is equally unclear. Various records show their four earliest children as born in Missouri, Texas, and in Oklahoma.18,19,20 One of the more credible record shows their second son, born in Jan 1917, as born in Hartshorne, Oklahoma, some 50 miles west of Wister. However Jesse, at least was clearly back in Missouri by June of that year.21,22
Alice and Jesse appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Mountain Grove, Wright Co., Missouri, enumerated 7 Jan 1920, reporting that they owned their home, which was mortgaged. Their children Everett, Lester and Opal were listed as living with them.23
Sometime between 1920 and 1930 Alice's husband dropped his surname and adopted his middle name as a surname. He, his wife, and their children then used the surname Bryant in all contexts.24,25,26,27
Alice and Jesse moved with their children to Texas by 1929. They appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Comal Co., Texas, on a pasture road to Blener Highway No. 46, enumerated 17 Apr 1930, reporting that they rented their home, and did not own a radio. Their children Everett, Lester, Opal and Ruby were listed as living with them.28
Alice and Jesse appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Wimberley, Hays Co., Texas, at Dripping Springs & Glin Rd, enumerated 27 Apr 1940, reporting that they rented their home for $10 per month, and had lived in the same county in 1935. Their children Lester, Opal, Ruby and Nellie were listed as living with them.29
Alice and Jesse appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Hays Co., Texas, on San Antonio Highway, enumerated 20 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm.30
Alice died on 15 Jun 1973 in San Marcos, Hays Co., Texas, at age 81.2 She was buried on 17 Jun 1973 in San Marcos City Cemetery, San Marcos, Hays Co., Texas.2
