     Joshua Atkinson was born about 1820.2,3 He was probably the male under age 5 to 10 listed in the household of his father, Thomas Walton Atkinson, in the 1830 Federal Census of Montgomery Co., Tennessee.4
     Joshua married Elizabeth A. Watkins about 1838 in Todd Co., Kentucky.1
     Joshua appeared on the 1840 Federal Census of Montgomery Co., Tennessee, with a household consisting of one male under age 5 (son Quintus) and one age 20 to 30 (himself), and one female age 20 to 30 (his second wife, Elizabeth A. Watkins.)5
     He was engaged in "manufactures and trades" according to the 1840 census.6
     Joshua died before 1850.1
