Narrative:

     Edmund King was born in 1740 in Virginia.1
     Edmund married first Mary Thomas, daughter of William Thomas and Mary Woodson, on 23 Aug 1770 in Pittsylvania Co., Virginia.2
     Edmund married second Elizabeth Woodson Thomas, sister of his first wife, in 1773.3,4
     Edmund and his son-in-law, Adam Toot, were vestrymen of Antrim Parish, Halifax Co., Virginia, and were referred to as "Gentlemen Justice."1
     Edmund sold the old King homestead in Halifax Co., Virginia, to Adam Toot on 23 Oct 1797, after Edmund and his family moved to Georgia.1
     His second wife died on 2 Apr 1798.1
     Edmund died on 7 Jul 1817 in Franklin Co., Georgia.1

Edmund seems to have married three times, with the mother of Sarah not clear. Kimberly Stanley states that Elizabeth is "thought to be" her mother.1
