Narrative:

     David Levi Riggs was born on 13 Feb 1894 in Logan, Cache Co., Utah.8,9,10,11
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Moreland, Bingham Co., Idaho, in the household of his parents, John Levi Riggs and Esther Velva Watson.4 He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Blackfoot, Bingham Co., Idaho, in the household of his parents.5
     David married Dora Ethel Bostwick, daughter of Harvey G. Bostwick and Rose E. Hile, on 10 Jan 1916 in Mackay, Custer Co., Idaho.12,13,14
     David registered for the draft for World War I on 5 Jun 1917, while living at White Knob, Idaho, reporting he was employed as a miner by Horseshoe Mining Co. in White Knob.3
     David and Dora appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Pocatello, Bannock Co., Idaho, at 656 S. Hays, enumerated 16 Jan 1920, reporting that they owned their home, which was mortgaged. Their daughter Ruth was listed as living with them, as were Dora's mother, Rose E. Hile, and brothers George and Samuel H. Bostwick, and George's wife May.19
     David and Dora appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon, at 1038 Albina Ave., enumerated 5 Apr 1930, reporting the family rented it's home for $30 per month, and that it owned a radio. Their children Ruth, Rosemary, David and William were listed as living with them, as was his father, John Levi Riggs.2
     David and Dora appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon, at 833 NE Simpson, enumerated 6 Apr 1940, reporting that they owned a home valued at $1,500 and that they had lived in the same house in 1935. Their children Rosemary, David and William were listed as living with them.20
     He was a travelling salesman in the tobacco business in 1920, and a manager in a grocery store by 1930. He was operating his own grocery by 1940, when he reported that he had worked 40 hours the last week of March and 52 weeks the prior year, earning $1,200. By 1950 he was a grocry manager, reporting in the 1950 census he had worked 66 hours the prior week.21,22,23,24
     David registered for the draft for World War II on 27 Apr 1942, while living at 833 NE Simpson, Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon, reporting he was self-employed as a grocer at 807 NE Union.25
     David and Dora appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Yachats, Lincoln Co., Oregon, enumerated 25 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm.26
     David died on 30 May 1957 in Lincoln Co., Oregon, at age 63.15,16,17 He was buried in Yachats Memorial Park, Yachats, Lincoln Co., Oregon.18
