     Philip married first Maria Gapsch, daughter of Moritz G. Gapsch and Johanna Pruetzel, on 9 Feb 1927 in St. Louis Co., Missouri.11,12,13
     Philip and Maria appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, on Keeler Rd., enumerated 19 Apr 1930, reporting that the couple owned a home valued at $6,000 and did not own a radio.2
     Philip and Maria appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Lemay Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, on Keller Rd., enumerated 9 Apr 1940, reporting they owned a home valued at $5,000, and had lived in the same house in 1935. Listed as living with them was Charles Polison, a 17-year-old farm laborer, listed as a lodger.17
