     She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, in the household of her parents, Benjamin F. Barkhau and Mary H. Pruetzel.16 She appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., Missouri in the household of her parents.17
     Caroline married Edward Gapsch, son of Edward W. Gapsch and Sophie Herfurt, on 21 Aug 1921 in Evangelical Church, Affton, St. Louis Co., Missouri.10,11
     Caroline and Edward appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, on Forman Rd., Affton, enumerated 22 Apr 1930, reporting they owned their home, and that the family had a radio.      Caroline died on 15 Jul 1973 in Fenton, St. Louis Co., Missouri, at age 72.12,13 She was buried on 19 Jul 1973 in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.14
