     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, in the household of his parents, Moritz G. Gapsch and Johanna Pruetzel.6 He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., Missouri in the household of his parents.17 He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Affton, Missouri in the household of his parents.18
     Charles married Emma C. Franke, daughter of William F. Franke and Lena Meyer, on 24 Feb 1924.12,13,14
     Charles and Emma appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, on Union Rd., enumerated 4 Apr 1930, reporting that the family owned a home worth $3500, but did not have a radio. Their children were listed as living with them.19
