     Linah C. James was born on 9 May 1878 in Kentucky.8,9,10
     She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Eddyville, Lyon Co., Kentucky, in the household of her parents, Barclay Arney James and Bobella Cobb.6
     She moved to Paducah with her parents about 1882.13
     She moved to Clarksville with her parents in 1891.14,15,16
     She moved to Indiana with her parents in 1893.17,18 She appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Evansville, Vanderburgh Co., Indiana, in the household of her parents.19
     She moved back to Clarksville with her parents in 1906.20,21
     Linah returned to Evansville after the death of her father.22 She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Evansville, Vanderburgh Co., Indiana, in the household of her sister Linda and her husband, Francis Byrnes Jr.23
     She never married, and apparently never worked.24,25,26
     Linah died on 18 Jul 1915 in Evansville, Vanderburgh Co., Indiana, at age 37.3 She was buried on 21 Jul 1915 in Greenwood Cemetery, Clarksville, Tennessee.11,12
