     Ichabod Worden was born on 24 Jan 1761 in Stonington, Connecticut.5,6,7
     He enlisted at Stonington, Connecticut, in Capt. Hopkins company of Infantry in Col. Webb's 3rd Regiment in the Connecticut Line, enlisting for a period of three years. He began service 1 Jan 1781.15,16
     Ichabod married Margaret Brown on 7 Feb 1781 in Stonington, Connecticut, with Charles Phelps, justice of the peace, officiating.8,9,10
     Ichabod was discharged at the end of his three-year committment, in New York City, 14 Dec 1783.17
     Ichabod and Margaret moved to western Vermont before 1791. Ichabod appeared on the 1790 Federal Census of Shaftsbury, Bennington Co., Vermont, (which was enumerated 4 Apr 1791, after Vermont became a state in Mar 1791) with a household consisting of one male over 16 (himself), three under 16 (sons Humphrey, Ichabod and Lyman), and two females (wife Margaret and daughter Rebekah.)18
     Ichabod and Margaret moved to Halifax, in south eastern Vermont, before 1800. Ichabod appeared on the 1800 Federal Census of Halifax, Windham Co., Vermont, with a household consisting of three males under age 10 (sons Lyman and Russell and one unknown), one age 10 to 15 (either Humphrey or Ichabod), and one age 26 to 45 (himself), two females under 10 (daughters Roxana and Laurein), one 10 to 15 (Rebekah), and one 26 to 44 (wife, Margaret.)19
     Ichabod and Margaret moved to northern New York, near the east end of Lake Ontario, apparently about 1805. Ichabod appeared on the 1810 Federal Census of Rutland, Jefferson Co., New York, with a household consisting of two males under age 10 (sons Truman and Salomon), and one age 26 to 44 (himself), two females under 10 (daughters Senah and another), and one age 26 to 45 (wife, Margaret.)20
     He applied for a pension for his service in the Revolutionary War 16 Apr 1818 at Champion, Jefferson Co., New York. His application, as required under the act of 18 Mar 1818, stated that he was "in reduced circumstances, and stands in need of the assistance of his country for support." His pension was approved 23 Jul 1819, effective 18 Apr 1818, at the rate of $8 per month.21,22
     Ichabod appeared on the 1820 Federal Census of Rutland, Jefferson Co., New York, with a household consisting of one male age 10 to 16 (son Salomon), one age 16 to 26 (Truman), and one age over 45 (himself), one female under 10 (unknown), two age 16 to 26 (daughter Senah, and another), and one over age 45 (wife, Margaret). Three people were shown as engaged in agriculture.23
     On 5 Jul 1826 he filed a statement, apparently required to continue his pension, from Rutland, Jefferson Co. In it he listed his assets as one cow, on plough, one harrow, one old axe and one old hoe. He stated he was a farmer, but had been in ill health for 37 years and was "unable to labor sufficiently for his maintenance his wife Margeret fifty four years old reside with his son."24
     By 1830 Ichabod and Margaret had moved to Brighton, on the south shore of Lake Ontario, where their daughter Roxana and her husband were living. Ichabod was probably the male age 60 to 70 appearing on the 1830 Federal Census of Brighton, Monroe Co., New York, in the household of Gideon Cobb, husband of his daughter Roxana. His wife was probably the female age 60 to 70 in the same household.25
     Ichabod appeared on the 1840 Federal Census of Brighton, Monroe Co., New York, with a household consisting of one male age 70 to 80 (himself), and one female age 70 to 80 (wife Margaret.)26
     Ichabod died on 1 Nov 1844 in Brighton, New York, at age 83, at his home.11,12,13 He was buried on 3 Nov 1844 in Mount Hope Cemetery, Rochester, New York, in his son-in-law's lot.3,14
