Jonathan Willard Deeds

The records below focus on deeds involving Jonathan Willard principal grantee of the town of Pawlet, now in Vermont. I have endeavored to find all deeds involving him from the charter for the town was issued in 1763 until his death in 1804, but some may have been missed.

The town of Pawlet, spelled Pawlett originally, was granted by the governor of New Hampshire. The area was later claimed by New York, and finally became part of the state of Vermont, as reflected in the "of" notations below.

He was also a grantee in three other towns in present-day Vermont: Pownal, Danby, and Harwich, now called Mt. Tabor. I have endeavored to find all his deeds recorded in those towns as well, and they are listed below the Pawlet deeds.
